Be realistic, and be sure that the search terms are something people would actually type in to look for your business. Now consider adding the word “custom” this drops the competition down to 19,700 other sites. Be fair, if you really don’t do any custom work choose a relevant term to replace that with such as “affordable” which drops the competition down to 9,280 other sites. Be smart, use descriptive terms that describe your business accurately. You don’t want visitors who are looking for tips on auto body you are looking for customers. Once you have the amount of sites down to a reasonable number then include the terms in your site and test to see where you list. You can continually adjust the placement of them in the site and through the tags until you are satisfied with the results. You can also ask other websites, to link back to your site. This helps your page ranking. The more links that refer to your business from other like businesses will cause the search engines to look favorably on your site and rank it higher. The advantage to using search engine optimization or organic search optimization is that you don't need Pay-Per-Click advertising campaigns or other forms of media to get visitors to your site. Although it is a good idea to get your site out wherever you can, you don't have to continually pay for advertising. Over the life of your business this could save you a lot of expense. Once you list on the front page of the search engines try it again with a new page, and bring in even more visitors!
